Hamlet

Why, tis a loving a fair reply:
Be as ourself in Denmark.

Hamlet has always seemed to me like a play bigger than life. Arguably, the most famous performance piece ever; I didn't take for granted the challenging role of King Claudius. I relished discovering who my Claudius was and experiencing him on stage throughout the run. The setting was timeless, but with a contemporary feel. The stage, with boldness, proclaimed an abstract quality that characters could be coming from anywhere. This show, which was the culmination of my study at LAMDA, was performed in the newly built Sainsbury Theatre. We were led by the always funny, Michael Attenborough who was the Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre in London for eleven years and directed As You Like It for the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC (2014).
